Frequently Asked Questions

What does "pay what you can mean?"

All of our classes are offered asking for no fixed amount of money in return. We ask that you pay what you can afford. This allows for a conscious form of commerce that honors each individual's unique financial situation without compromising access to yoga. We recognize it can be hard to determine what to pay so we offer a suggested range of $0-$15 for a class.

How do I pay?

We accept cash, check, or charge. You can pay online or when you come to class. Online purchases are set up in $5 increments for ease and simplicity but you can pay any amount per class, including $0. Simply pay when you come in for class. All of our classes are drop-in and do not require a reservation.

How are the teachers paid?

The teachers are paid a flat rate per class, the same pay rate they were paid before we converted to a pay what you can model.

What class should I take?

All of our classes are offered in an accessible manner for all levels. If you want to start with the gentlest options, we recommend Gentle Hatha Yoga, Chair Yoga, or Gentle Restorative Yoga to ease into postures and movement.

What do I need to bring or wear?

We provide yoga mats and props but feel free to bring your own if you prefer. Come dressed in comfortable clothing that you can stretch in and bring a water bottle. Try not to eat at least an hour before class. We ask that you do not wear perfume or scented lotions to class. If you bring your cellphone, please turn it off before entering the practice space.

If the studio is pay what you can, why do you have packages?

The five-class and monthly unlimited packages are ways to provide affordable price points for students while offering a reliable revenue stream to support the studio.

Where are you located?

Is it safe?

Tree of Life Yoga Studio is located in downtown Niagara Falls and this is purposeful. The owner, Mindy Scime, did not want the studio to be in an affluent suburban area. Mindy is a resident of Niagara Falls who loves and believes in her city and wants to give back to her community. Join us in transforming the stigma of Niagara Falls by visiting often, frequenting businesses, and moving into our neighborhoods.
